EtherLoops Lowlight HV is a bank of 40 ambient presets for u-he Hive 2: dark, warm pads, misty atmospheres, soft keys and clean bells, plucks that bloom into echoes, Berlin-school and Phrygian sequences, tempo-synced arps, expressive leads, deep basses and slow, drifting soundscapes.

Every preset is built on one of 12 EL Organic wavetables (included) layered with a second oscillator from Hive's own factory tables, so the bank sounds like EtherLoops but stays light to install. It shares the EtherLoops sound: dark filtered bodies you open up on the XY pad, a quieter airy layer an octave or two above, low unison detune instead of supersaw width, slow free-running movement, and reverb, delay and chorus already set.

A companion to EtherLoops Organic HV: the 12 tables here are the ones Organic HV doesn't use, so the two banks don't overlap.

Four performance controls on every preset

XY pad 1, X: Timbre: sweeps the wavetable position of both oscillators
XY pad 1, Y: Filter: opens a deliberately dark sound up to bright
XY pad 2, X: Motion: the speed of the slow internal movement
XY pad 2, Y: Space: from close and dry to a wide reverb and delay wash

The XY pads ship at their sweet spot, not at zero. Mod wheel (filter + vibrato), aftertouch (brightness / air layer) and velocity (level + filter) are mapped on every preset.

Lowlight Haze: dark mossy pad with a slow-scanning body and alpine air an octave up
Salt Hymn: hymn-like pad, salt-crusted body and a soft vocal layer above
Tidal Felt: felted tidal pad with gentle formant shimmer and soft phasing
Orbit Dusk: hollow fifth-stacked dusk pad with a waterfall top
Ash Veil: heavy ash-grey pad, deep lows and a faint synced-organ glow
Cloud Loft: lofty cloud pad with high air two octaves up
Relic Warmth: vintage analog-flavored pad with a gentle tape-like drift
Pale Harbour: evolving harbour pad, both tables slowly drifting through formant fields

Dust Cathedral: band-passed choir dust under a high cathedral ceiling
Night Loom Mist: woven night mist, FM hollows drifting in the delay
Quiet Engine Room: low mechanical hum with FM terrain and a touch of grit
Signal Ghosts: ghostly old-signal atmosphere with phased mirror partials

Harbour Bell: clean harbour bell with sixteen-partial shimmer two octaves up
Moss Keys: soft mossy keys with a quiet harmonic organ above
Salt Glass: crystalline salt bell, glass-to-brass partial a fifth up
Dust EP: dusty electric-piano-ish keys with a soft FM bark
Old Radio Keys: worn radio keys, slight pitch drift and lo-fi grit
Pale Chime: pale wind-chime bell with a bell-tree overtone layer
Felt Organ: soft felted organ, deep and round with synced overtones

Cloud Pluck: soft cloud pluck with a seven-bell sparkle on top
Orbit Pluck: hollow resonant pluck, sine-to-fizz edge on the Timbre pad
Ash Pluck: dark woody pluck with a resonant bite
Loom Pluck: night pluck that blooms into long echoes

Low Tide Pulse (Minor): resonant minor pulse, hold one note
Engine Steps (Any Key): root-fifth-octave engine pulse with random filter wobble
Moss Motor (Dorian): rolling Dorian motor, woody and resonant
Salt Run (Phrygian): tense Phrygian run for dark psybient grooves
Signal Drift (MinPenta): minor-pentatonic line with ties, old-signal tone
Dust Spiral (Any Key): up-down arp with bell-tree overtones, play chords

Quiet Sub: round sub with a quiet engine body
Old Signal Bass: resonant analog-style bass with envelope bite
Salt Growl: dirty-engine overblown growl for psybient grooves

Tidal Archive: slow tidal scape through a mirror-city haze
Hollow Undertow: deep fifth drone with a shimmying undertow

Requirements

u-he Hive 2.1 or later (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP) with its factory wavetables installed (the default)
Mac, Windows or Linux
About 25 MB of disk space

Install

Unzip the download.
In Hive, open the preset browser, right-click any folder and choose Open in Explorer/Finder to find your Hive.data folder.
Copy Wavetables/EtherLoops Organic into Hive.data/Wavetables/ (if you own Organic HV, just merge: same folder name).
Copy Presets/EtherLoops Lowlight HV into Hive.data/UserPresets/Hive/.
Reload Hive. The bank appears under User and in the Bank list.
